In the morning, visit Vashisht Temple, located in a small village called Vashisht, known for its hot springs. The temple is an ancient marvel with intricate wood carvings and stone art. You can take a dip in the hot springs, which are believed to have medicinal properties. In the afternoon, wander around Old Manali and grab lunch at one of the local cafes. Try the trout fish or momos. In the evening, head to Mall Road, the bustling street of Manali, for some shopping and people-watching.
On day two, head to Solang Valley, a beautiful valley surrounded by snow-capped mountains. You can hike, paraglide, or zipline here, or just enjoy the stunning views. Have lunch at the Solang Valley Resort and then visit the Hadimba Temple, a 16th-century wooden temple surrounded by cedar forests. In the evening, explore the cafes and restaurants of Manali and relax with a cup of chai or coffee.
If you have extra time, visit the Rohtang Pass, a high mountain pass that connects Manali to Leh. It offers breathtaking views but is only open from May to November. Another option is to visit the Naggar Castle, a historic palace turned into a hotel with stunning views of the mountains. For a side trip, take a day trip to Kasol, a small village famous for its hippie culture and trekking trails.
To maximise your fun, try and experience the local culture by attending a traditional dance or music performance. You can also rent a bike or scooter and explore Manali and the surrounding areas at your own pace. For adventure enthusiasts, try river rafting on the Beas River or bungee jumping at Jumpin Heights.
