Nature Lovers 2-day Itinerary in Sakleshpura in June 2023

  1. Day 1: Manjarabad Fort
    15 minutes (7.5 km) from Sakleshpura

    Start your day with a visit to Manjarabad Fort. Built by Tipu Sultan, the fort offers a panoramic view of the Western Ghats. Take a walk around the fort walls and soak up the history of the place. In the morning, the area around the fort is covered in mist, making it a picturesque spot for photography. In the afternoon, head to the nearby coffee plantations and experience the process of coffee-making. In the evening, relax by the Manjarabad Fort Lake and enjoy the sunset.

  2. Day 2: Bisle View
    1 hour 20 minutes (45.5 km) from Manjarabad Fort

    Wake up early and drive to Bisle View. Trek through the Bisle Reserve Forest to reach the viewpoint. You will be rewarded with a stunning view of the surrounding mountains and valleys. Spend the afternoon exploring the forest and spotting wildlife such as langurs, giant squirrels and hornbills. In the evening, head back to Sakleshpura and unwind at one of the local restaurants or cafes.

Recommendations

Sakleshpura is surrounded by several other natural attractions that are worth exploring such as the Jenukal Gudda peak, the Hemavathi Dam and the Kukke Subramanya Temple. If you have time, consider taking a side trip to nearby Coorg or Chikmagalur. To maximize your fun, try the local cuisine and sample some of the famous Sakleshpura coffee. Lastly, don't forget to take a dip in one of the many natural waterfalls in the area.
