7-Day Itinerary for Jaipur and Udaipur in January 2024

  1. Day 1: Visit Amer Fort
    30 minutes (8.5 km) from Jaipur City Center

  2. Day 2: Visit City Palace and Hawa Mahal

    Start with a visit to the City Palace, the residence of the royal family of Jaipur. Walk through the palatial rooms and admire the art and architecture. In the afternoon, visit Hawa Mahal, also known as the Palace of Winds, and enjoy the intricate honeycomb-like structure.     Take a day trip to Kumbhalgarh Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that is known for its long wall that extends up to 36 kilometers. In the afternoon, visit the Ranakpur Jain Temple, a magnificent temple that is known for its intricate carvings and architecture. Return to Udaipur in the evening.

Recommendations

Consider taking a hot air balloon ride over Jaipur, or experiencing an elephant ride at Amer Fort. If you have an extra day, visit the Ranthambore National Park to see the majestic tigers. Another great side trip is to visit the Kumbh Mela festival in Allahabad, which is held in January.
