Pacaya Volcano is an active volcano located in the municipality of San Vicente Pacaya. It has an elevation of 2,552 meters and is ideal for hiking. The surrounding landscapes are beautiful, and visitors can witness the lava rocks and lava tubes. Don't forget to bring water and comfortable shoes!

Travel time by car is approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes from Guatemala City to Pacaya Volcano, 2.5 hours from Pacaya Volcano to Lake Atitlan, and 2.5 hours from Lake Atitlan to Biotopo del Quetzal.
If you have more time, you can explore more small towns and villages around Lake Atitlan or book a stay at one of the many guesthouses. Additionally, if you have less time, you can skip the Lake Atitlan boat tour and spend more time hiking at Pacaya Volcano or visiting the nearby hot springs.
