6-Day Cultural Immersion Itinerary for Prayagraj, Varanasi, Ayodhya, and Lucknow in November 2023

  1. Day 1: Prayagraj
    2 hours 30 minutes (126 km) from Lucknow

    Start your day by experiencing the religious and cultural hub of Prayagraj by visiting the Triveni Sangam, where the Ganges, Yamuna and mythical Saraswati rivers meet. You can take a dip in the holy waters and visit the nearby Hanuman Temple. In the afternoon, head to the Allahabad Fort and marvel at the unique blend of Indian and Islamic architecture. End the day with a visit to the Anand Bhavan Museum, which was once the Nehru family residence, and learn about the history of India's Independence movement.

  2. Day 2: Varanasi

  4. Day 4: Lucknow

    Start your day by visiting the Bara Imambara, an architectural masterpiece and one of the most popular tourist attractions in Lucknow. Afterward, visit the Chota Imambara, a smaller but equally impressive building. In the afternoon, visit the Rumi Darwaza, a 60-feet high gate and an architectural marvel of Awadh. End your day by taking a stroll through the colorful markets of Lucknow and savoring the delectable Awadhi cuisine.

  5. Day 5: Lucknow

    Spend your morning visiting the Residency, a historic complex that played a significant role in the 1857 Indian War of Independence. In the afternoon, visit the Ambedkar Memorial Park, a sprawling complex dedicated to the late Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar, the father of the Indian Constitution. End your day by indulging in some shopping at Hazratganj, one of the oldest markets in Lucknow and a shopper's paradise.

  6. Day 6: Lucknow
    45 minutes (12 km) from previous location

    Start your day by visiting the Nawab Wajid Ali Shah Zoological Garden, also known as the Lucknow Zoo, which has a wide variety of animals and birds. In the afternoon, visit the Bada Imambara, one of the largest and most famous monuments in Lucknow. End your day with a visit to the British Residency, a historic complex that witnessed the Siege of Lucknow during the 1857 Indian War of Independence.
