3-Day Itinerary for Number, Wayanaf in August 2023

  1. Day 1: Chitradurga Fort

  2. Day 2: Bheemeshwari Wildlife Sanctuary
    2 hours 30 minutes (91 miles) from Chitradurga Fort

    Spend the day at the Bheemeshwari Wildlife Sanctuary, located on the banks of the Cauvery River. Take a guided nature walk, try your hand at fishing, or go on a coracle ride. Keep an eye out for crocodiles, otters, and a variety of birds.

  3. Day 3: Namdroling Monastery
    2 hours 5 minutes (80.5 miles) from Bheemeshwari Wildlife Sanctuary

    Start your day with a visit to the Namdroling Monastery, the largest teaching center of the Nyingma lineage of Tibetan Buddhism outside of Tibet. Marvel at the intricate architecture and the golden statues of Buddha. In the afternoon, head to the Dubare Elephant Camp to interact with elephants and go on a nature walk. End your day with a visit to the Harangi Dam.

If you have extra time, consider visiting the Jog Falls, the second-highest plunge waterfall in India, or the Madikeri Hill Station, known for its coffee and spice plantations.
