3-Day Nature Itinerary in Chorla, July 2023

  1. Day 1: Dudhsagar Falls
    1 hour 30 minutes (45 miles) from Dabolim International Airport

    In the morning, we will drive to Dudhsagar Falls. As one of the tallest waterfalls in India, Dudhsagar Falls is a must-visit sight. You can spend the afternoon hiking the surrounding forest, or take a refreshing dip in the falls. In the evening, we will travel to our hotel in the nearby town of Sanquelim.

  2. Day 2: Bhagwan Mahavir Wildlife Sanctuary and Tambdi Surla Temple
    30 minutes (13 miles) from Sanquelim

    In the morning, we will head to Bhagwan Mahavir Wildlife Sanctuary. The park is home to a variety of flora and fauna, including tigers, leopards, monkeys, and snakes. Take a guided trek to the Tambdi Surla Temple, an ancient 12th-century temple nestled in the Western Ghats. In the afternoon, you can explore the local markets and shops, or take a leisurely stroll around the town. In the evening, we will return to our hotel in Sanquelim.

  3. Day 3: Chorla Ghat and Kesarval Spring
    1 hour 30 minutes (55 miles) from Sanquelim

    In the morning, we will drive to Chorla Ghat. It's a popular spot for trekking and bird watching, and you might spot some rare species like the Malabar Trogon or the Indian Grey Hornbill. In the afternoon, we will visit Kesarval Spring, a natural spring with crystal clear water that's believed to have medicinal properties. You can take a dip or just relax by the spring before returning to your hotel.

Other must-visit attractions in the area include the Salim Ali Bird Sanctuary and the Old Goa churches and cathedrals. If you have more time, consider taking a day trip to the beautiful beaches of North Goa or the quaint village of Divar Island.
