7-Day Itinerary for Yamunotri, Gangotri, Badrinath and Kedarnath in September 2023

  1. Day 1: Yamunotri
    3 hours and 30 minutes (141 km) from Dehradun

    Visit the Yamunotri Temple in the morning, which is one of the Char Dham pilgrimage sites. Take a dip in the Yamuna river and later enjoy a scenic trek to Saptarishi Kund in the afternoon. Finally, end your day by relaxing in the hot springs of the Gauri Kund Temple.

  2. Day 2: Gangotri
    4 hours and 30 minutes (172 km) from Yamunotri

    Start your day by visiting the Gangotri Temple, another Char Dham pilgrimage site. Marvel at the sight of the Gangotri Glacier and take a dip in the holy Ganges. After lunch, trek to Gaumukh Glacier or Bhojwasa for a scenic view of the Himalayas. End your day by enjoying a peaceful evening aarti at the temple.

  3. Day 3: Kedarnath
    6 hours and 30 minutes (220 km) from Gangotri

    Start early morning and visit the Kedarnath Temple, one of the holiest shrines in Hinduism, dedicated to Lord Shiva. Take a pony or helicopter ride to save time. Afternoon, trek to Gandhi Sarovar, Vasuki Tal or Tungnath. Enjoy the scenic beauty of the Himalayas. End your day by enjoying a hot cup of tea and a warm meal at the temple.

  4. Day 4: Badrinath
    5 hours and 30 minutes (223 km) from Kedarnath

    Spend the day exploring the beautiful town of Badrinath. Visit the nearby places like Charan Paduka, Neelkanth Peak, Mata Murti Temple, and the Narad Kund. Take a walk through the colorful markets and try some delicious local cuisine. End your day with a relaxing evening at your hotel.

  6. Day 6: Rishikesh
    9 hours and 30 minutes(298 km) from Badrinath

    Start your day early by heading to Rishikesh, also known as the 'Yoga Capital of the World'. Visit the famous Triveni Ghat and attend the evening aarti at the Parmarth Niketan Ashram. Enjoy an adventurous evening of river rafting in the Ganges and later indulge in some delicious street food near Laxman Jhula.

  7. Day 7: Departure
    45 minutes (20 km) from Rishikesh to Dehradun Airport

Recommendations
