City Experiences in Goa: 4-Day Itinerary in July 2023

  1. Day 1: Panjim City and Fontainhas
    30 minutes (15.5 km) from Goa International Airport

    Start your day with a visit to the heart of Goa, Panjim city. Drive to the Immaculate Conception Church, a historical landmark that towers over the city's skyline. Walk around the beautiful Fontainhas, Latin Quarters, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Here, you can admire the colourful Portuguese-style houses and the heritage architecture. Take a break for lunch at Viva Panjim, which serves authentic Goan cuisine. In the afternoon, visit the Goa State Museum to learn about Goa's rich history. End your day with a sunset boat cruise on the Mandovi river.

  2. Day 2: Old Goa and Spice Plantation
    25 minutes (10.6 km) from Panjim City

    Begin your day by exploring Old Goa's rich history at the Basilica of Bom Jesus, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and home to the remains of St. Francis Xavier. Next, visit the Se Cathedral, which is one of the largest churches in Asia. Have lunch at the famous Vinayak Family Restaurant, which serves traditional Goan food. In the afternoon, take a guided tour of a spice plantation, where you will learn about the history and cultivation of various spices. End your day by relaxing in the natural surroundings and taking part in a spice-infused lunch.

  3. Day 3: Beach Day and Dudhsagar Waterfalls
    50 minutes (22.8 km) from Panjim City

    Take a day trip to the Dudhsagar Waterfalls, one of the most popular tourist attractions in Goa. Start your day early to avoid the crowds and enjoy the scenic beauty of the falls. Return to the city and have lunch at the Fisherman's Wharf, which serves delicious seafood. Spend the afternoon relaxing on the white sandy beaches of Calangute or Baga. Enjoy the sunset with a cold drink in hand at the famous Club Tito's.

  4. Day 4: Fort Aguada and Anjuna Flea Market
    30 minutes (14.1 km) from Calangute

    Begin your day by visiting the historic Fort Aguada, which was built by the Portuguese in the 17th century. The fort offers magnificent views of the Arabian Sea and is a great place for photography. Have lunch at the Thirsty Bear, which serves a range of international cuisine. In the afternoon, head to the famous Anjuna flea market, which offers a unique shopping experience with a variety of stalls selling handicrafts, clothes, and jewellery. End your day with a relaxing dinner at the Gunpowder restaurant, which serves traditional Indian cuisine with a modern twist.

Recommendations

If you have extra time, you can explore the beautiful beaches of South Goa, such as Palolem and Colva. You can also take a day trip to the Salim Ali Bird Sanctuary or visit the Bhagwan Mahaveer Sanctuary and Mollem National Park. To maximize your fun, you can also try water sports, such as parasailing, jet skiing, and banana boat rides.

We recommend that you consider renting a scooter or motorbike to explore the city, as it will give you more flexibility and freedom. Be sure to wear a helmet and follow all traffic rules.
