Gangaramaya Temple, located in the heart of the city, is one of the most iconic Buddhist temples in Colombo. In the morning, you can witness the serene atmosphere of the temple and observe how locals start their day with prayers. The temple houses a museum that showcases a collection of religious artifacts, including Buddha statues from different countries. For lunch, try the local delicacies at the nearby restaurants. In the afternoon, visit the National Museum of Colombo, which is a five-minute drive away. The museum has an extensive collection of Sri Lankan history and culture, including ancient regalia, royal paraphernalia, and antique weapons. In the evening, enjoy the sunset at the Galle Face Green, a seaside promenade located nearby, and try some street food.
