Early in the morning, we will start our journey to Hemkund Sahib, a popular pilgrimage site for both Sikhs and Hindus. The scenic trek to Hemkund Sahib, located at an altitude of 4,632 meters, takes around 6-7 hours and offers breathtaking views of the Himalayas. After reaching the gurudwara, devotees take a dip in the holy lake and pay their respects at the temple. In the afternoon, we will trek back to Ghangaria and have lunch at a local restaurant. In the evening, you can explore the local market and try some delicious Garhwali cuisine.
After early morning breakfast, we will trek to the Valley of Flowers, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The valley is a paradise for nature lovers, with over 500 species of wildflowers and rare Himalayan wildlife. The trek takes around 4-5 hours and is of moderate difficulty. We will have lunch at the valley, surrounded by stunning views of the mountains. In the evening, we will trek back to Ghangaria and have dinner at a local restaurant.
Today, we will drive to Kedarnath, one of the four sacred dhams in Hinduism. The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is located at an altitude of 3,583 meters. The trek to the temple takes around 2-3 hours and is of moderate to difficult difficulty. After reaching the temple, we will perform the pooja and seek blessings of Lord Shiva. In the evening, we will explore the local market and have dinner at a local restaurant.
If you have more time and want to explore the area further, you can visit Badrinath and Yamunotri, two other sacred dhams in the region. You can also go on a rafting adventure on the Ganges or visit the Rajaji National Park to spot some exotic wildlife.
For those interested in history and culture, a visit to the Beatles Ashram in Rishikesh is a must-see. You can also attend the Ganga Aarti at Parmarth Niketan and experience the spiritual side of the city.
