4-Day Itinerary for Katra, Shimla, Kufri

  1. Day 1: Katra
    45 minutes (30.2 km) from Jammu Airport

    Morning: Visit Vaishno Devi Temple, a popular Hindu pilgrimage site. You can reach this temple by trekking for around 12 km from Katra or by riding a pony or a helicopter.
    Afternoon: Explore the Bhairavnath Temple, located halfway to Vaishno Devi Temple. You can also go shopping at the local bazaars and try some local street food.
    Evening: Enjoy the grand Aarti at the Mata Vaishno Devi Temple. This ritual takes place every evening and is a must-watch.

  2. Day 2: Shimla
    5 hours (266 km) from Katra

    Morning: Visit the historic Viceregal Lodge, built-in 1888, which was the summer residence of the British Viceroys. The Lodge is surrounded by lush green gardens and offers a stunning view of the Himalayas.
    Afternoon: Walk around the Mall Road, a famous shopping destination in Shimla. You can also try some local street food or visit the famous Christ Church, a beautiful colonial-era church.

  3. Day 3: Kufri

  4. Day 4: Shimla

Recommendations
