3-Day Family Friendly Itinerary for Chikmagaluru in June 2023

  1. Day 1: Mullayanagiri Peak
    1 hour 30 minutes (24 miles) from Chikmagalur

    Mullayanagiri Peak is the highest peak in Karnataka with an altitude of 1,930 meters. Start your day early and reach the spot by 7 AM to witness the breathtaking sunrise. After the sunrise, go on a short trek to the peak. The trek is not suitable for children below 10 years of age. After the trek, have breakfast at one of the local restaurants and head to Hebbe Falls. The falls are surrounded by dense forests and coffee plantations, and the drive to the falls is scenic. Enjoy a refreshing bath in the falls and have lunch at a nearby restaurant. End your day by exploring the coffee plantations and tasting some freshly brewed coffee.

  2. Day 2: Baba Budangiri and Manikyadhara Falls
    1 hour (20 miles) from Chikmagalur

    Baba Budangiri is a mountain in the Baba Budan range and is famous for its shrine dedicated to the Sufi Saint Baba Budan. Start your day by visiting the shrine and enjoying the scenic view from the top. After the shrine, visit the Manikyadhara Falls, which is a short drive from Baba Budangiri. The falls are surrounded by lush green forests and are a popular picnic spot. Have lunch at a nearby restaurant and then head to the Kemmangundi Hill Station. The Hill Station is known for its panoramic view and is a popular spot for nature lovers. End your day by enjoying the view and tasting some local delicacies.

  3. Day 3: Kudremukh National Park

    Kudremukh National Park is a protected wildlife reserve and is known for its biodiversity. Start your day early and reach the park by 9 AM. The park offers trekking, camping, and bird-watching activities. After the park, have lunch at a nearby restaurant and head to the Bhadra Wildlife Sanctuary.
