Start your adventure at the Kukke Subramanya Temple and begin the trek to Kumara Parvatha. The trek is about 14 km long and is considered one of the most strenuous treks in the Western Ghats. During June, the weather is mildly hot with occasional rain showers, so make sure to carry enough water and wear comfortable hiking shoes. You will be trekking through thick and lush forests, crossing numerous streams and waterfalls. After about 6-7 hours of trekking, you will reach the summit where you can camp overnight and enjoy the breathtaking views.
Wake up to the beautiful sunrise from the summit and enjoy the panoramic views of the surrounding valleys and hills. After breakfast, start your descent back to the Kukke Subramanya Temple. The descent can take another 5-6 hours. Take breaks in between to enjoy the beauty of the Western Ghats, and maybe even take a dip in one of the streams. Once you reach the base, you can rest and have a well-deserved meal before heading back to your hotel.
If you have extra time, you can explore the Kukke Subramanya Temple and its surroundings. There are also other trekking routes nearby, including the Tadiandamol Trek and the Brahmagiri Trek. If you want to relax, you can visit the nearby beaches or go on a wildlife safari in the nearby national parks. Make sure to check the weather forecast before heading out and carry enough cash as most places do not accept cards.
