Ladakh Adventure Itinerary - July 2023

  1. Day 1: Arrive in Leh
    10 minutes (3.1 km) from Kushok Bakula Rimpochee Airport Leh

    Upon arrival, check-in to your hotel and rest for a bit. In the afternoon, head to Shanti Stupa for panoramic views of Leh town and the surrounding mountains. In the evening, explore the local market and try some traditional Ladakhi cuisine.

  2. Day 2: Magnetic Hill & Gurudwara Pathar Sahib
    30 minutes (30 km) from Leh

    Visit the mysterious Magnetic Hill where vehicles seemingly defy gravity. Then head to Gurudwara Pathar Sahib, a beautiful Sikh temple built in honor of Guru Nanak Dev Ji. In the evening, return to Leh and visit Leh Palace, a former royal palace overlooking the town.

  3. Day 3: Nubra Valley
    4 hours (120 km) from Leh

    Get an early start for a full day trip to Nubra Valley, passing through the Khardung La, the highest motorable pass in the world. Visit the Diskit Monastery, Hunder Sand Dunes and ride a camel. Return to Leh in the evening.

  4. Day 4: White Water Rafting on the Zanskar River
    2 hours (70 km) from Leh

    Experience the thrill of white water rafting on the Zanskar River, one of the most exciting activities in Ladakh. The trip starts from Chilling and ends at Nimu Bridge. Spend the evening in Leh and enjoy the local nightlife.

  5. Day 5: Hemis National Park
    1 hour 30 minutes (50 km) from Leh

    Explore the wildlife of Ladakh at Hemis National Park, home to snow leopards, blue sheep, Himalayan griffon vultures, and more. Visit the Hemis Monastery, the largest and wealthiest Buddhist monastery in Ladakh. Return to Leh in the evening.

  6. Day 6: Pangong Tso Lake
    5 hours (150 km) from Leh

    Get an early start for a full day trip to Pangong Tso Lake, one of the most beautiful high-altitude lakes in the world. The lake is shared by India and China and is famous for its changing colors throughout the day. Return to Leh in the evening.

  7. Day 7: Kargil War Memorial
    5 hours (215 km) from Leh

    Visit the Kargil War Memorial, built in honor of the soldiers who lost their lives in the 1999 Kargil War between India and Pakistan. En route, stop at Lamayuru Monastery, one of the oldest monasteries in Ladakh. Return to Leh in the evening.

Don't miss the opportunity to try Ladakhi tea and visit the local apricot farms. If you're interested in trekking, there are many options available from one-day hikes to multi-day treks. Consider visiting Tso Moriri Lake for a more secluded and peaceful experience.
