3-Day Itinerary for Goa in June 2023

  1. Day 1: Basilica of Bom Jesus
    27 minutes (11.2 km) from Dabolim Airport

    Morning: Visit the UNESCO World Heritage site, Basilica of Bom Jesus. The church is open from 9 AM to 12:30 PM. It contains the remains of St. Francis Xavier, a famous Christian missionary. The church is a fine example of baroque architecture, with intricate carvings and paintings.

    Afternoon: Head to Dona Paula Beach, located 30 minutes from the church. The beach offers various water sports like parasailing, Jet Skiing and water skiing. Enjoy a local Goan lunch at a beach shack.

    Evening: Visit the Fort Aguada Lighthouse located 17 minutes from the beach. The lighthouse offers a spectacular view of the Arabian Sea at sunset.

  2. Day 2: Dudhsagar Falls
    1 hour 47 minutes (65 km) from Fort Aguada Lighthouse

    Morning: Visit the Dudhsagar Falls - one of the tallest waterfalls in India located in the Bhagwan Mahavir Wildlife Sanctuary. You can take a train from Kulem Railway Station to reach the falls. The falls are open from 9 AM to 5 PM.

    Afternoon: Head to the Tambdi Surla Mahadev Temple located 30 minutes from the falls. The 12th-century temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is an excellent example of Kadamba-Yadava architecture.

    Evening: Take a dip in the natural rock pool formed at the base of the waterfall before starting your journey back to Goa.

  3. Day 3: Anjuna Flea Market
    1 hour 5 minutes (19.9 km) from Dudhsagar Falls

    Morning: Visit the Anjuna Flea Market, which opens at 8 AM and is located on Anjuna Beach. The market offers a variety of items like clothing, jewelry, handicrafts, and spices.

    Afternoon: Head to the Chapora Fort located 20 minutes from the beach. The fort offers a panoramic view of the Vagator Beach and was built by the Portuguese in the 17th century.

    Evening: End your day with a visit to the Baga Beach, located 16 minutes from the fort. The beach offers various water sports and has a lively nightlife with numerous restaurants and clubs.

Recommendations

Visit the spice plantations in Ponda to learn about the spice trade that once made Goa famous. Take a day trip to the scenic Divar Island to explore its picturesque villages. You can also visit the Salim Ali Bird Sanctuary in Chorao Island to get a glimpse of various migratory birds.
