6-Day Kedarnath, Tungnath and Badrinath Trekking Itinerary on a Budget in October 2023

  1. Day 1: Haridwar to Guptkashi
    6 hours (160 km) from Haridwar

    In the morning, start your journey from Haridwar to Guptkashi, a small town in the Rudraprayag district. In the afternoon, explore the town and its local markets. In the evening, visit the ancient Vishwanath Temple and offer your prayers.

  2. Day 2: Guptkashi to Kedarnath
    7 hours (35 km by road + 19 km trek) from Guptkashi

    Start early in the morning for Kedarnath, one of the twelve Jyotirlingas. Trek uphill through lush green forests and picturesque landscapes. Afternoon free for rest and refreshment. In the evening, visit the Kedarnath Temple and witness the evening aarti.

  3. Day 3: Kedarnath to Gaurikund to Chopta
    8 hours (19 km trek + 108 km by road) from Kedarnath

    Begin your downhill trek to Gaurikund, from where you will drive to Chopta. On arrival in Chopta, relax in the lap of nature and witness the breathtaking view of the Himalayas. In the evening, enjoy a bonfire with your friends.

  4. Day 4: Chopta to Tungnath to Chandrashila
    5 hours (5 km trek) from Chopta

    After breakfast, trek to Tungnath, the highest Shiva temple in the world. Continue your trek to the summit of Chandrashila, which offers a panoramic view of the surrounding snow-capped peaks. In the evening, return to Chopta.

  5. Day 5: Chopta to Badrinath
    6 hours (157 km) from Chopta

    Drive to Badrinath, a holy town situated on the banks of the Alaknanda River. In the afternoon, visit the Badrinath Temple, one of the four Char Dham pilgrimage sites. In the evening, take a dip in the hot springs of Tapt Kund.

  6. Day 6: Badrinath to Haridwar
    9 hours (305 km) from Badrinath

    Start your journey back to Haridwar with memories of a lifetime. En route, visit Mana village, the last village before the India-China border. In the evening, reach Haridwar and take part in the Ganga Aarti at Har Ki Pauri.
