3-day Florence and Pisa Itinerary

  • Day 1: Florence
    From your hotel to Piazza del Duomo- 20 minutes (1.5 miles)

    Start the day by visiting Piazza del Duomo, home to some of Florence's most iconic landmarks, including Cattedrale di Santa Maria del Fiore, Battistero di San Giovanni, and Campanile di Giotto. Enjoy a cup of Italian coffee at Caffe Gilli, one of the oldest coffeehouses in Florence, and head to Palazzo Vecchio, Florence's town hall. Explore the Palace and then walk across the bridge to visit Palazzo Pitti, a complex of museums with grand collections, including many of the most iconic Italian artworks.

  • Day 2: Pisa
    From Florence to Pisa by train- approximately 1 hour

    Today, take a day trip to Pisa to see the iconic Leaning Tower of Pisa. The Tower is open from 9:00 am to 8:00 pm during summer, and 9:00 am to 6:00 pm during winter. Get mesmerized by the beauty of Piazza dei Miracoli, where the Tower is located, and take a few iconic leaning tower photographs.

  • Day 3: Florence
    From your hotel to Uffizi Gallery- 10 minutes (1.1 miles)

    Spent the morning at Uffizi Gallery, one of the oldest art museums globally, and home to famous Italian Renaissance masterpieces like "The Birth of Venus" by Botticelli and "Annunciation" by Leonardo da Vinci. After visiting the Museum, head to Ponte Vecchio, the most iconic bridge of Florence, that houses many jewelry shops. Cross the bridge and walk to Piazza della Signoria, another essential square of Florence that houses a replica of Michelangelo’s David.

Useful Tips

If you have more time, visit Boboli Gardens, a beautiful outdoor space that's located next to Palazzo Pitti. If you have less time but want to pack in more sightseeing, consider visiting Basilica di Santa Croce, one of Florence’s most magnificent churches. It houses the tombs of Italian greats like Michelangelo, Dante, and Galileo.

PisaInternational Airport (PSA) is the most convenient airport to visit Pisa, located roughly 3 kilometers away.
