2-Day Gujarat Itinerary for June 2023

  1. Day 1: Ahmedabad
    25 minutes (5.2 miles) from Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport

    Ahmedabad, the largest city in Gujarat, is a perfect combination of ancient and modern architecture. Start your day by visiting the Sabarmati Ashram, which was once home to Mahatma Gandhi. Here, you can learn about his life and the Indian independence movement. Afterward, head to the Calico Museum of Textiles, which houses an extensive collection of textiles and fabrics from all over India.

    For lunch, head to the Manek Chowk street food market, where you can try a variety of local delicacies like dhokla, khandvi and fafda. In the afternoon, visit the Jama Masjid mosque, one of the most prominent mosques in India. Here, you can admire the beautiful architecture and learn about the Islamic history of Gujarat.

    In the evening, take a stroll in the Kankaria Lake, a beautiful lake surrounded by gardens and parks. Here, you can enjoy a light show and a laser show. For dinner, head to the Grand Thakar Restaurant, where you can enjoy traditional Gujarati cuisine.

  2. Day 2: Somnath

    Somnath is a small town situated on the coast of Gujarat. It is home to the famous Somnath Temple, which is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas in India. Start your day by visiting the temple and exploring the surrounding area. The temple is beautifully designed and has a fascinating history.

    For lunch, head to the Garden Cafe, a beautiful outdoor cafe that serves delicious food. In the afternoon, visit the Bhalka Tirtha, the place where Lord Krishna is said to have been shot with an arrow. Here, you can learn about the mythological history of the area.
