Two Days in Haridwar and Rishikesh

  1. Day 1: Haridwar
    20 minutes (9.6 km) from Rishikesh

    Morning: Start the day with a visit to Har Ki Pauri, the most famous ghat in Haridwar, and take a dip in the holy waters of the Ganges. Then, head to Mansa Devi Temple, which is located atop a hill and offers stunning views of the city.
    Afternoon: After lunch, visit the Chandi Devi Temple via a cable car ride and enjoy the scenic views from the top. Next, head to the Shantikunj Ashram for a spiritual experience and to learn more about Hinduism.
    Evening: End the day with the Ganga Aarti at Har Ki Pauri, a beautiful ceremony where priests offer prayers to the river and hundreds of lamps are lit, creating an unforgettable experience.

  2. Day 2: Rishikesh
    10 minutes (4.4 km) from Haridwar

    Morning: Start the day with yoga and meditation at Parmarth Niketan, one of the most renowned ashrams in Rishikesh. Afterward, head to Ram Jhula, an iron suspension bridge over the Ganges, and visit the beautiful and peaceful Trimbakeshwar Temple.
    Afternoon: Have lunch at the local market and then visit the Beatles Ashram, also known as Maharishi Mahesh Yogi Ashram. This place was briefly home to the Beatles in 1968 and is now a popular tourist destination.
    Evening: End the day with a visit to the Neer Garh Waterfall, located in the Rajaji National Park. This beautiful waterfall is a great place to relax and enjoy the scenery.

Recommendations

If you have more time, consider visiting the Rajaji National Park and experiencing the wildlife and nature. Day trips to the nearby hill stations of Mussoorie and Dehradun are also popular options. Make sure to try the local street food and shop for souvenirs in the markets.
