2-Day Itinerary for Hampi in July 2023

  1. Day 1: Visit Hampi Bazaar
    10 minutes (1.3 miles) from Hampi Bus Stand

    Start your morning at Hampi Bazaar, one of the oldest and liveliest markets in Hampi. You'll find shops selling traditional handicrafts, clothing, and jewellery. Take a walk around and enjoy the vibrant atmosphere. In the afternoon, visit the Virupaksha Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage Site dedicated to Lord Shiva. This temple is one of the oldest structures in Hampi, dating back to the 7th century. Spend your evening at the Hemakuta Hill, where you can watch the beautiful sunset over the Hampi landscape.

  2. Day 2: Explore Vijayanagara Empire Ruins
    15 minutes (2.5 miles) from Hampi Bazaar

    Start your day at the Vijayanagara Empire Ruins, the ancient city of Hampi. Visit the Royal Enclosure, where you can see the King's Palace, Queen's Bath, and other royal buildings. In the afternoon, head to the Vittala Temple, another UNESCO World Heritage Site, and marvel at its stunning architecture. End your evening at the Tungabhadra River, where you can take a boat ride and relax amidst the beautiful landscape.

Don't miss the Hampi Utsav, a cultural festival that takes place in November every year. You could also take a day trip to Badami, a town known for its cave temples. And if you're looking for some adventure, try bouldering or rock climbing at the Hampi Boulders.
