Two-Day Itinerary for Pondicherry in June 2023

  1. Day 1: Explore the Beaches
    10 minutes (2.3 km) from Pondicherry Railway Station

    In the morning, head to the Promenade Beach, which is a popular spot for morning walks and jogging. It is also a great place to watch the sunrise. In the afternoon, visit the Paradise Beach, which is an isolated beach located on an island. You will need to take a ferry to get there. Spend the evening at Serenity Beach, which is popular among surfers and you can try your hand at surfing as well.

  2. Day 2: Visit the Heritage Sites
    19 minutes (6.3 km) from Serenity Beach

    In the morning, visit the Sri Aurobindo Ashram, which is a spiritual community founded by Sri Aurobindo and his followers. In the afternoon, explore the French Quarter and visit the French War Memorial, the Notre Dame des Anges, and the Government Museum. In the evening, take a stroll on the Goubert Avenue, which is a seaside promenade with great views of the Bay of Bengal.

Don't miss out on the Auroville, which is an experimental town that was founded in 1968. It is known for its futuristic and sustainable architecture and is a great place to learn about spiritual and cultural practices from around the world. You can also take a day trip to Mahabalipuram, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and known for its ancient temples and rock carvings.
