Four Days in Goa: Stunning Beaches, Culture and Cuisine

  1. Day 1: Fort Aguada
30 minutes (9km) from Dabolim Airport

Begin your Goa adventure with a visit to Fort Aguada, a 17th-century Portuguese fort that offers stunning views of the Arabian Sea. In the morning, explore the fort's ramparts and lighthouse, which was built in 1864. Afternoon is the best time to hit the nearby Sinquerim Beach, enjoy water sports like parasailing, banana boat rides, and jet skiing. In the evening, head to the lively Calangute Beach and indulge in delicious seafood and drinks at one of the many shacks lining the shore.

  2. Day 2: Dudhsagar Falls
2 hours 15 minutes (65km) from Calangute Beach

Today, take a trip to the magnificent Dudhsagar Falls, which translates to "Sea of Milk". The falls are located on the Mandovi River and are surrounded by lush green forests. In the morning, enjoy a jeep safari through the Bhagwan Mahavir Wildlife Sanctuary and Mollem National Park, which will take you through the dense jungle, crossing streams and spotting wildlife. Reach the falls by noon and take a refreshing dip in the pool at its base. On the way back, stop at the spice plantation to learn about local spices and enjoy a traditional Goan lunch.

  3. Day 3: Old Goa and Panaji
30 minutes (14km) from Calangute Beach

Today, explore the cultural and architectural heritage of Goa. Start with a visit to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Old Goa, which was the capital of Portuguese India in the 16th and 17th centuries. Visit the Basilica of Bom Jesus, which houses the mortal remains of St. Francis Xavier and the Se Cathedral, one of the largest churches in Asia. In the afternoon, head to Panaji, the state capital, and walk along the Mandovi River. Enjoy a cruise to watch the sunset and end the day with a delicious meal at one of the many restaurants offering authentic Goan cuisine.

  4. Day 4: Palolem Beach
    1 hour 30 minutes (70km) from Panaji

On your last day in Goa, relax and unwind at the pristine Palolem Beach, which is known for its calm waters, white sands, and towering coconut palms. In the morning, take a scenic drive to the beach and enjoy a leisurely swim. In the afternoon, explore the nearby Cotigao Wildlife Sanctuary or rent a kayak and explore the sea caves. End your day with a sunset beach walk and dinner at one of the beachside restaurants offering fresh seafood.
