Two-Day Nature Itinerary in Bokaro in June 2023

  1. Day 1: Bokaro Steel City Park
    10 minutes (3.5 km) from Bokaro Railway Station

    Morning: Start your day with a peaceful walk at Bokaro Steel City Park, which is known for its lush greenery and serene atmosphere. Take a stroll around the lake and spot different species of birds.
    Afternoon: Head to the nearby Jawaharlal Nehru Biological Park, which is home to various animals like tigers, leopards, and elephants. You can also see different types of plants and trees in the park.
    Evening: End your day with a beautiful sunset view at the Gayatri Mandir, a temple located on top of a hill overlooking the city. The temple is dedicated to Goddess Gayatri and offers a panoramic view of Bokaro.

  2. Day 2: Parasnath Hills
    2 hours (65 km) from Bokaro Steel City Park

    Morning: Start early and drive to the Parasnath Hills, the highest mountain range in Jharkhand. The hills are considered sacred by Jains and have numerous temples and shrines. You can also go for a trek to the top of the hills for a breathtaking view.
    Afternoon: Visit the Baidyanath Jyotirlinga Temple in Deoghar, which is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva. The temple complex also has other small temples and ponds.
    Evening: Head back to Bokaro and relax at the City Centre Mall, which has a variety of shops and restaurants.

Recommendations

If you want to explore more natural beauty, visit the Tenughat Dam, which is located 15 km from Bokaro. The dam is surrounded by hills and forests, making it an ideal place for a picnic.
You can also consider taking a day trip to the Hazaribagh Wildlife Sanctuary, which has a large number of wild animals and birds.
