4-Day Adventure Itinerary in Chikkmangaluru and Sakleshpur in June 2023

  1. Day 1: Mullayanagiri Trek
    20 minutes (11.5 km) from Chikkmangaluru

    Start your day with an early morning trek to Mullayanagiri, the highest peak in Karnataka. The trek is moderate to difficult, so make sure you wear comfortable clothes and shoes. There are several viewpoints on the way to the peak, and once you reach the top, you'll be rewarded with breathtaking views of the Western Ghats. After the trek, head to the nearby Seethalayanagiri Temple and take in the serene atmosphere. In the evening, explore the town of Chikkmangaluru and try some local delicacies.

  2. Day 2: Bhadra Wildlife Sanctuary
    1 hour (40 km) from Chikkmangaluru

    Get ready for an exciting day at the Bhadra Wildlife Sanctuary, home to tigers, leopards, elephants, and many other exotic species. You can also go on a trek to the Bisle Forest Reserve and explore the rich flora and fauna. In the evening, return to Chikkmangaluru and enjoy a cup of freshly brewed coffee.

  4. Day 4: Sakleshpur Railway Station
    1 hour 30 minutes (70 km) from Chikkmangaluru

    On your last day, head to the Sakleshpur Railway Station and take the historic train ride through the Western Ghats. The train passes through 27 tunnels and over 52 bridges and offers stunning views of the lush forests and waterfalls. After the train ride, explore the town of Sakleshpur and visit the Manjehalli Waterfall or the Pandavara Gudda Hill. In the evening, return to Chikkmangaluru and enjoy a farewell dinner with some authentic local cuisine.

If you have some extra time, consider visiting the Kudremukh National Park or the Belur and Halebid temples.
