Family-Friendly Itinerary for Coorg and Kushalnagar in June 2023

  1. Day 1: Talakaveri
    1 hour 20 minutes (36.5 miles) from Kushalnagar

    In the morning, visit Talakaveri, the birthplace of the Kaveri River. It is located in the Brahmagiri Hill and has a temple dedicated to Lord Brahma. Afternoon, head to the Bhagamandala Temple, which is located at the confluence of three rivers. Finally, end your day at the Dubare Elephant Camp, where you can observe and interact with elephants.

  2. Day 2: Abbey Falls
    45 minutes (20.5 miles) from Kushalnagar

    Start your day by visiting the Namdroling Monastery, which is the largest teaching center of the Nyingma lineage of Tibetan Buddhism in the world. In the afternoon, head to the Raja's Seat, a scenic garden overlooking the hills and valleys of Coorg. Finally, end your day by visiting the Abbey Falls, a stunning waterfall surrounded by coffee and spice plantations.

If you have extra time, consider taking a day trip to the Nagarhole National Park, which is just a two-hour drive from Kushalnagar. Also, make sure to try some of the local cuisine, such as pandi curry (pork curry) and kadumbuttu (rice balls).
