Rishikesh 3-Day Itinerary in June 2023

  1. Day 1: Beatles Ashram
10 minutes (2.3 km) from Rishikesh Bus Station

Begin your day exploring the abandoned Beatles Ashram, which became a pilgrimage for fans of the legendary band. Morning is the best time to visit as the temperature is cooler and fewer people around. You can take a guided tour or explore by yourself. Afterward, head to a nearby café for a delicious breakfast and a cup of chai. Spend your afternoon at Triveni Ghat, one of the most sacred bathing ghats in Rishikesh, and witness the Ganga Aarti ceremony at sunset. For dinner, head to Chotiwala Restaurant, famous for its North Indian cuisine, located a few minutes from Triveni Ghat.

  2. Day 2: Neer Garh Waterfall
45 minutes (16 km) from Rishikesh Bus Station

Embark on a scenic hike to the stunning Neer Garh Waterfall. The hike would take around 2 hours, so it's best to start early. The waterfall is a perfect spot to take a refreshing dip and enjoy the serene surroundings. Grab lunch from one of the local eateries before heading to the Rajaji National Park. The park is home to a wide range of flora and fauna, including tigers, leopards, and elephants. Take a guided jeep safari to explore the park and spot some wildlife. End your day with dinner at one of the many rooftop cafes in Laxman Jhula, offering a beautiful view of the Ganges.

  3. Day 3: Shivpuri
30 minutes (15 km) from Rishikesh Bus Station

Start your day early with a refreshing yoga session at one of the many ashrams in Rishikesh. Afterward, head to Shivpuri, a small town known for its outdoor activities. Go for river rafting, bungee jumping, or cliff jumping in the Ganges. Shivpuri is also an excellent spot for camping, surrounded by lush green forests and mountains. In the evening, head back to Rishikesh for some souvenir shopping in the local markets. For dinner, head to Ramana's Organic Cafe, serving authentic vegan and vegetarian cuisine.

Recommendations

If you have an extra day, you can visit Haridwar, one of the seven holiest places in Hinduism, located just 20 km from Rishikesh. You can also visit the Vashishta Cave, located 25 km from Rishikesh, where the famous Sage Vashishta meditated.
