Two-Day Itinerary for Chikmagalur in June 2023

  1. Day 1: Mullayanagiri Peak
    30 minutes (12.5 km) from Chikmagalur city centre

    Start the morning early with a trek to the highest peak in Karnataka, Mullayanagiri. The trek is moderate, and the view from the top is breathtaking, especially during the early morning hours. Spend the afternoon exploring the serene and tranquil surroundings of the nearby Baba Budangiri hills. You can visit the Manikyadhara Falls, one of the most popular waterfalls in the region. End the day with a visit to the Bhadra Wildlife Sanctuary, which is home to a variety of flora and fauna, including the tiger, elephant, and leopard.

  2. Day 2: Coffee Plantation Tour and Kemmanagundi
    1 hour 20 minutes (48 km) from Chikmagalur city centre

    Start the day with a guided tour of a coffee plantation, where you will learn about the history and processing of coffee. The tour will also give you an insight into the life of the local people who work in the plantations. In the afternoon, drive to Kemmanagundi, a beautiful hill station that was once the summer retreat of the Maharaja of Mysore.
