Two Days Itinerary from Sholinghur to Vellore

  1. Day 1: Jalakandeswarar Temple
    16 minutes (7.5 km) from Sholinghur

    In the morning, visit the Jalakandeswarar Temple, one of the important Hindu temples in the region. It is believed that Lord Shiva, the Hindu god of destruction, appeared in this temple in the form of a Lingam. The temple has beautiful carvings and sculptures that depict various stories from Hindu mythology. In the afternoon, head to the Vellore Fort, a 16th-century fortress built during the reign of the Vijayanagara Empire. The fort has a moat, a temple, a mosque, and a church inside its walls. In the evening, visit the Government Museum, which has collections of sculptures, paintings, and artifacts from the Pallava, Chola, and Vijayanagara periods.

  2. Day 2: Yelagiri Hill Station
    1 hour 30 minutes (70 km) from Vellore

    In the morning, depart to Yelagiri Hill Station, which is a quiet and serene hill station surrounded by green hills and valleys. The hill station has a beautiful lake where you can enjoy boating and a park that has a variety of flowers and trees. In the afternoon, visit the Swamimalai Hill, which is a popular spot for trekking and hiking. You can also visit the Jalagamparai Waterfalls, which is a picturesque waterfall that falls from a height of 15 meters. In the evening, return to Vellore and visit the Palar Dam, which is a scenic location for a relaxing evening walk.
