Two Days in Matheran - A Nature Lover's Paradise

  1. Day 1: Louisa Point Trek

    Evening: Witness the sunset at Panorama Point, which is just a 20-minute walk from the temple. Enjoy the panoramic view of the Sahyadri ranges and the twinkling lights of Mumbai in the distance.

  2. Day 2: Echo Point and Chanderi Caves

    Morning: Start with a 30-minute walk through the woods to the Echo Point, a scenic spot where you can shout out your name and hear it echo back. After that, take a 45-minute walk to the King George Point, a lesser-known viewpoint offering a mesmerizing view of the valley and the waterfalls.

    Afternoon: Head to the Chanderi Caves, a group of ancient Buddhist rock-cut caves carved out of the hillside. It's a 2-hour trek from King George Point, but the stunning views throughout the journey make it worthwhile.

    Evening: End your trip with a visit to the Matheran Railway Station, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Take a toy train ride through the scenic forest and enjoy the beauty of Matheran one last time.

Recommendations

If you have more time, consider visiting the One Tree Hill Point, Honeymoon Point or the Garbett Plateau for some more stunning views. You can also indulge in some local delicacies such as Chikki and Aam Panna, which are available throughout the town. For day trips, head to the nearby Prabal fort or the Karnala Bird Sanctuary.
