Kedarnath Badrinath: 7-Day Adventure Itinerary in July 2023

  1. Day 1: Kedarnath Temple
    2 hours 30 minutes (45.8 km) from Jolly Grant Airport

    Start the day with a 14 km trek to Kedarnath Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva. The trek is challenging, but the beautiful scenery makes it all worth it. Spend the afternoon exploring the temple complex and the evening attending the evening aarti.

  2. Day 2: Vasuki Tal Lake
    1 hour 30 minutes (8.4 km) from Kedarnath Temple

    Embark on a 6 km trek to Vasuki Tal Lake, a stunning glacial lake located at the base of Mt. Satopanth. Spend the morning hiking and taking in the breathtaking views. After lunch, head back to Kedarnath Temple for evening aarti.

  3. Day 3: Auli
    7 hours 30 minutes (244 km) from Kedarnath Temple

    Drive to Auli, a popular ski resort, for a day of adventure. Go on a trek to Gurso Bugyal, a beautiful meadow with stunning views of Nanda Devi, Trishul, and Dron Parvat. In the afternoon, try your hand at skiing or snowboarding.

  4. Day 4: Badrinath Temple
    2 hours (59.7 km) from Auli

    Visit Badrinath Temple, one of the four Chota Char Dham pilgrimage sites. Explore the temple complex and take a dip in the Tapt Kund hot springs. In the evening, attend the evening aarti.

  5. Day 5: Valley of Flowers
    1 hour 30 minutes (49.5 km) from Badrinath Temple

    Embark on a 13 km trek to the Valley of Flowers, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its meadows of endemic alpine flowers. Spend the day hiking and taking in the stunning views. Return to Badrinath in the evening.

  6. Day 6: Mana Village
    10 minutes (3.4 km) from Badrinath Temple

    Visit Mana Village, the last village on the India-China border and the legendary home of the Pandavas. Explore the village and its famous attractions, including the Vyas Gufa, Bhim Bridge, and Vasudhara Falls. In the evening, attend the evening aarti at Badrinath Temple.

  7. Day 7: Panch Prayag
    4 hours (142 km) from Mana Village

    Visit Panch Prayag, the five confluences of the Alaknanda River. Start with the closest one to Mana, the Bhagirathi River, followed by the Nandakini River, the Mandakini River, the Pindar River, and finally, the Dhauli Ganga River. Spend the day exploring and taking in the stunning views. Return to Mana Village in the evening for a final night at Badrinath.

Recommendations

If you're up for more adventure, consider a day trip to Hemkund Sahib or Kedartal. For a more relaxed day, visit the hot springs in Yamunotri or Tapt Kund in Badrinath. To maximize your fun, make sure to pack comfortable hiking shoes and clothing, sunscreen, and a water bottle.
