Gateway of India is a monumental and historical arch that overlooks the Arabian Sea. Taking a boat ride from there can be an enjoyable experience. Once you're done there, head to the Colaba Causeway Market, which offers a wide range of goods, souvenirs and authentic products from Mumbai. You can find clothing, accessories and decorative items, among other things.
On your second day, take a boat ride to visit the Elephanta Caves. They are a collection of temples, sculptures and caves on the island of Gharapuri. After returning from the island, check out the Chor Bazaar, also known as the 'thieves market.' This market is the place where you can find everything imaginable, from antiques, vintage items, and retro products to stolen goods, musical instruments and clothing.
Spend your final day visiting the Shree Siddhivinayak Temple, one of the most prosperous and popular temples in Mumbai. After paying your respects, travel to the High Street Phoenix Mall for any shopping needs. This huge shopping centre has a variety of high-end shops, restaurants, cinemas and leisure facilities.
Private taxis are the most comfortable option when exploring Mumbai as a luxury traveler. For shorter distances, metered auto-rickshaws are also available. They are the cheapest option, but you need to negotiate the fare until you reach an appropriate price. In Mumbai, Uber, Ola, and other taxi aggregators also operate which can be booked using their app.
The cost of private taxis is approximately INR2500 per day, and INR1000-1500 for an auto-rickshaw.
If you have more time, consider visiting Marine Drive and watching the sunset over the Arabian Sea. The JJ Flyover Market is another option for street shopping. If you're a Mumbai resident, consider travelling via the Mumbai local train to explore the city like a local. However, during peak hours it is highly crowded.
If you have less time, skip the Chor Bazaar or High Street Phoenix Mall and plan a visit to either the Nehru Centre Art Gallery or Sanjay Gandhi National Park.
Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport (BOM) is located approximately 12 km from Mumbai's city centre. You can take a prepaid taxi to reach the city or use Uber/Ola. This airport is one of India's busiest and offers multiple options for dining, shopping and leisure activities.
