Most of the places on this itinerary can be reached by taxi or car. You can also rent a car from the city center or the airport. Always check the traffic situation in Lilongwe and plan accordingly as rush hour traffic can be intense. Taxis are widely available but, as always, it's best to negotiate your rate before the ride. Estimated transportation costs would come around MK 20,000 for the entirety of the tour.

Kamuzu International Airport (LLW) serves Lilongwe and is situated around 25 km from the city center. It connects Malawi with several African and European cities, such as Johannesburg and Addis Ababa, and it takes around 30 minutes to reach the city centre by car/taxi from the airport.
