Kalsubai and Sandhan Valley Adventure Itinerary - July 2023

  1. Day 1: Kalsubai Peak
    2 hours (68 miles) from Mumbai

    Morning: Start your day early and drive to the base of Kalsubai Peak, the highest peak in Maharashtra. Begin your trek to reach the summit, which takes about 3-4 hours, and soak in the breathtaking views from the top.
    Afternoon: Descend back to the base and have lunch at one of the local restaurants. Afterward, visit the Bhandardara Lake for a scenic boat ride and enjoy the tranquil surroundings.
    Evening: Head back to your hotel for a relaxing evening.

  2. Day 2: Sandhan Valley Trek
    1 hour 30 minutes (50 miles) from Bhandardara

    Morning: Wake up early and drive to the start point of the Sandhan Valley Trek. This trek is a mix of rappelling, rock climbing, and water crossing. It takes about 5-6 hours to complete.
    Afternoon: Have lunch at one of the local restaurants and then visit the Ratangad Fort, a beautiful fort with a rich history. You can also explore the Amruteshwar temple, located near the fort.
    Evening: Head back to Mumbai and enjoy the night at one of the city's many bars or clubs.

Recommendations

If you have some extra time, you can visit the Arthur Lake in Bhandardara, which is a popular spot for camping and stargazing. You can also take a day trip to the historical Ajanta and Ellora caves, located about 4 hours from Bhandardara.
