Start the day early and enjoy a scenic 3-hour drive to Netravati Trailhead. Embark on a 6-hour trek to the peak, through lush green forests, and enjoy panoramic views of the Western Ghats. During the trek, you will come across several streams and small waterfalls that offer a refreshing break to relax and rejuvenate. The trek is moderately difficult and requires a good level of fitness. Enjoy a packed lunch at the peak and descend back to the trailhead in the evening.
Spend a day exploring the Bhadra Wildlife Sanctuary, home to several endangered species of flora and fauna. Take a guided jeep safari through the sanctuary and spot various wildlife animals such as tigers, leopards, elephants, and sambars. The sanctuary also offers trekking, bird watching, boating, and other adventure activities. Enjoy a picnic lunch amidst the serene surroundings of the sanctuary. In the evening, return to Netravati Trailhead and head back to Mangalore International Airport for your flight back home.
If you have extra time, consider visiting Kudremukh National Park, located 2 hours from Netravati Trailhead. You can also opt for a homestay experience in the nearby villages to get a glimpse of the local culture and lifestyle. Another popular day trip is to the nearby town of Dharmasthala, known for its ancient Shiva temple and a statue of Bahubali. To maximize your fun, plan your trip during monsoon season (June-September) when the Western Ghats are at their lush green best.
