Transportation

To venture out of the city, there are several bus and car rental companies available. It's recommended to hire a car with a driver, and this can range from KZT 14,000 to KZT 17,000 per day. Taxi services are also widely available and affordable in the city, and public transportation is limited. Plan on spending about KZT 500 per taxi ride within the city.

Useful Tips

If you have less time, consider skipping Tamgaly Tas or Altyn Arashan Hot Springs. If you have more time, add a visit to the Assy Plateau or visit the Balqash Lake. Note this itinerary may change due to weather conditions in winter.

Airports

The Almaty International Airport (ALA) is located 15 kilometers (9.5 miles) from the city centre. Taxi fare from the airport to downtown is around KZT 2,500.
