3-Day Adventure Itinerary for Durham, Charlotte in July 2023

  1. Day 1: Adventure at U.S. National Whitewater Center

    In the morning, head over to the U.S. National Whitewater Center, where you can experience thrilling activities such as white-water rafting, kayaking, and zip-lining.   2. Day 2: Explore the Outdoors at Crowders Mountain State Park

    Spend your morning hiking one of the many trails at Crowders Mountain State Park. Take in the stunning views of the surrounding forests and mountains.   3. Day 3: Discover History at Durham's American Tobacco Campus
    2 hours 30 minutes (139 miles) from Crowders Mountain State Park

    Spend your morning exploring the American Tobacco Campus in Durham. Take a tour of the historic tobacco warehouses and learn about the area's rich history. In the afternoon, visit the Museum of Life and Science, where you can learn about science and nature while having fun. In the evening, enjoy a meal at one of the many local restaurants before returning to your hotel.

Recommendations

If you have more time in Charlotte, visit the NASCAR Hall of Fame or the Mint Museum Uptown. For a day trip, drive two hours to Asheville to visit the Biltmore Estate and explore the Blue Ridge Mountains.
