4-Day Adventure Itinerary in Dehradun for August 2023

  1. Day 1: Robber's Cave
    20 minutes (5.7 miles) from Dehradun Railway Station

    Start your day with an adventurous trek to Robber's Cave. Also known as Gucchupani, this cave is surrounded by hills and is famous for its natural formations. Spend your morning exploring the cave and taking a dip in its cold water stream. In the afternoon, head to the Sahastradhara waterfall, just 5 km away, and soak in its therapeutic sulphur water. End the day with a visit to the Tapkeshwar Temple, located 6 km away from the waterfall, and witness its beautiful cave architecture and natural water springs.

  2. Day 2: Forest Research Institute and Mindrolling Monastery
    30 minutes (8.5 miles) from Robber's Cave

    Start your morning with a visit to the Forest Research Institute. Explore the museum and learn about the flora and fauna of the Himalayan forests. In the afternoon, head to the Mindrolling Monastery, one of the largest Buddhist centres in India. Admire its beautiful architecture and visit the Great Stupa, which is the highest in the world. End your day with a visit to the Tibetan market, just 2.5 km away, and shop for souvenirs and handicrafts.

  3. Day 3: Malsi Deer Park and Rajaji National Park
    40 minutes (11 miles) from Mindrolling Monastery

    Start your day with a visit to the Malsi Deer Park, located at the foothills of the Shivalik range. Get up close and personal with various species of deer, peacocks and birds. In the afternoon, head to the Rajaji National Park and take a jungle safari to spot tigers, elephants, leopards and other wildlife. End your day with a visit to the Kalinga Smarak, just 5 km away, and pay your respects to the Indian army soldiers who sacrificed their lives for the country.

  4. Day 4: Trek to Nag Tibba and Kempty Falls
    2 hours 10 minutes (38 miles) from Rajaji National Park

    Start your day early with a trek to the Nag Tibba peak. This is a moderate-level trek that takes around 4-5 hours to complete, and offers stunning views of the Himalayan range. In the afternoon, head to the Kempty Falls, located 17 km away, and take a dip in its refreshing water. End your day with a visit to the Mussoorie Mall Road, just 15 km away, and indulge in some shopping and food.
