4-Day Itinerary for Andaman, Sri Lanka in July 2023

  1. Day 1: Explore Havelock Island
    15 minutes (6 miles) from Port Blair

    In the morning, take a ferry to Havelock Island to explore the pristine beaches. Visit the Radhanagar Beach, one of the most beautiful beaches in Asia. After lunch, head to the Elephant Beach where you can enjoy snorkelling and kayaking. In the evening, watch the sunset at the Vijay Nagar Beach.

  2. Day 2: Visit Ross Island and North Bay Island
    25 minutes (12 miles) from Havelock Island

    In the morning, take a ferry to Ross Island, formerly the British administrative headquarters in the Andaman. Visit the ruins of the church, swimming pool and chief commissioner's residence. After lunch, visit North Bay Island, known for its water sports activities like jet skiing, scuba diving and glass-bottom boat rides. In the evening, take a stroll on the Corbyn's Cove Beach.

  3. Day 3: Explore Port Blair
    15 minutes (3 miles) from Corbyn's Cove Beach

    Visit the Cellular Jail, also known as Kala Pani, which housed political prisoners during the British era. In the afternoon, visit the Samudrika Marine Museum to learn about the marine life and anthropology of the Andaman islands. In the evening, take a ferry to the Ross Island Light and Sound show where the history of the island is narrated through light and sound.

  4. Day 4: Trek to Mount Harriet National Park
    10 minutes (4 miles) from Port Blair

    In the morning, take a trek to the Mount Harriet National Park, the highest peak in the Andaman Islands. Enjoy the scenic view of the surrounding islands from the peak. Have lunch at the Forest Museum and then take a guided tour of the Chatham Saw Mill, one of the oldest sawmills in Asia. In the evening, shop for souvenirs at the Sagarika Emporium.

Recommendations

Don't miss out on the Mahatma Gandhi Marine National Park and the Baratang Island which are famous for their mangrove creeks and limestone caves. You can plan a day trip to the Baratang Island. If you have more time, you can also visit the Little Andaman Island and the Diglipur Island. Don't forget to try the local seafood and coconut water.
