Four-Day Family Friendly Itinerary for Simla in July 2023

  1. Day 1: The Ridge
    10 minutes (2.4 km) from Shimla Railway Station

    In the morning, you can explore the scenic beauty of the Ridge which is a large open space located in the heart of the city. You can enjoy the panoramic views of the snow-capped Himalayas while taking a stroll. In the afternoon, you can visit the Christ Church which is the oldest church in North India and is located on the Ridge. In the evening, you can take a walk along the Mall Road which is the main shopping area in Shimla and has a variety of shops selling local handicrafts, shawls, and other souvenirs.

  2. Day 2: Kufri
    45 minutes (15 km) from Shimla

    On the second day, you can visit Kufri which is located at an altitude of 2,510 meters above sea level. In the morning, you can go for a horse ride to experience the beautiful views of the Himalayas and visit the Mahasu Peak. In the afternoon, you can visit The Himalayan Nature Park which is home to a variety of animals and birds such as the Himalayan black bear, barking deer, and the Himalayan Monal. In the evening, you can take a stroll around the Mall Road in Kufri and enjoy the local cuisine.

  3. Day 3: Jakhu Temple
    25 minutes (3.5 km) from The Ridge

    On the third day, you can visit the Jakhu Temple which is located on the Jakhu Hill and is dedicated to Lord Hanuman. In the morning, you can take a short trek to reach the temple and enjoy the panoramic views of Shimla. In the afternoon, you can visit the State Museum which showcases the rich cultural heritage of Himachal Pradesh. In the evening, you can take a walk in the Annandale which is a flat terrain surrounded by pine trees and is ideal for playing golf and cricket.

  4. Day 4: Mashobra
    30 minutes (12 km) from Shimla

    On the fourth day, you can visit Mashobra which is a beautiful town located near Shimla. In the morning, you can visit the Reserve Forest Sanctuary and enjoy the scenic beauty of the place. In the afternoon, you can visit the Mahasu Devta Temple which is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is located in Mashobra. In the evening, you can take a stroll around the Shimla Water Catchment Sanctuary which is a beautiful place located near Mashobra and is ideal for bird watching.
