A Day of Motorcycle Riding to Waterfalls in July 2023

  1. 9:00AM: Santa Monica Mountains
    30 minutes (15.1 miles) from Downtown Los Angeles

    Start your day with a scenic route to Santa Monica Mountains. Take the Topanga Canyon Boulevard and enjoy the wind in your hair as you ride through the beautiful mountains. Make a quick stop at the Topanga Lookout for an amazing view of the valley.

  2. 11:00AM: Malibu Creek State Park
    20 minutes (9.8 miles) from Santa Monica Mountains

    Arrive at Malibu Creek State Park and take a hike to the stunning Rock Pool, where you can swim in the cool water and relax in the natural surroundings. This park has been seen in many famous movies and TV shows over the years, you may even recognize some of the scenery.

  3. 1:00PM: Neptune's Net
    20 minutes (11.7 miles) from Malibu Creek State Park

    Head over to Neptune's Net, a local seafood restaurant with some of the best fish and chips in town. With an amazing view of the Pacific Ocean, it's the perfect place to refuel before continuing your journey.

  4. 2:30PM: Solstice Canyon
    20 minutes (12.7 miles) from Neptune's Net

    Take a ride to Solstice Canyon and enjoy the shaded hiking trails leading up to the stunning waterfall. The trail is an easy hike, but with a motorcycle, be sure to park before the trailhead and take a short walk to the waterfall. Here you can take a refreshing dip in the pool and enjoy the peaceful sound of the waterfall.

  5. 4:00PM: Los Angeles Arboretum and Botanic Garden
    45 minutes (34.6 miles) from Solstice Canyon

    End your day with a visit to the Los Angeles Arboretum and Botanic Garden. Walk through the beautiful gardens and learn about the different plant species. Check out the waterfall in the Japanese Garden and relax in the peaceful surroundings.

Recommendations

If you have extra time, you might want to check out the Griffith Observatory for an amazing view of the city or take a ride to the Angeles National Forest for some more hiking trails with stunning views. You can also take a day trip to Joshua Tree National Park for some more off-road motorcycle riding and desert scenery.
