Pondicherry Bachelor Party Itinerary - August 2023

  1. Day 1: Paradise Beach
20 minutes (8.5 km) from Pondicherry city center

Start your day by heading to Paradise Beach, also known as Plage Paradiso. This pristine beach is accessible only by boat, which makes the journey all the more exciting. Spend your morning relaxing on the beach, taking a dip in the turquoise waters or playing some beach volleyball. For lunch, try some seafood at the nearby shacks. Spend your afternoon enjoying water sports such as jet-skiing, banana boat rides, and surfing. As the sun sets, have some cocktails at one of the beachside bars and groove to some foot-tapping music.

  2. Day 2: Baker Street
5 minutes (1.5 km) from Paradise Beach

Start your morning with a hangover breakfast at Baker Street. This British-style cafe serves all-day breakfast, sandwiches, and coffee. After breakfast, explore the city's French Quarter or Ville Blanche on foot. Spot the beautiful colonial-style buildings painted in pastel colors and the iconic yellow houses that Pondicherry is famous for. Visit the Sri Aurobindo Ashram, which is a spiritual community. After lunch, explore the local bazaars and markets and shop for souvenirs, handicrafts, and clothes. As the sun sets, head to Le Club for an evening of dancing.

  3. Day 3: Auroville
30 minutes (13 km) from Pondicherry city center

On your final day, explore the experimental township of Auroville, which is a short drive from Pondicherry. Visit the Matrimandir, which is a spherical structure that represents the town's spiritual center. Spend your morning exploring the quaint little cafes and shops in the town. For lunch, head to Tanto Pizzeria, which serves some of the best pizzas in town. Spend your afternoon enjoying activities such as pottery, yoga, and meditation. Head back to Pondicherry for your final evening, where you can party the night away at one of the city's many bars.

Recommendations

If you have some extra time, consider visiting the Ousteri Lake, which is a great place for boating and bird-watching. If you're looking to take a day trip, consider visiting Mahabalipuram, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is known for its ancient temples and rock carvings. To maximize your fun, try to experience the city by renting a bike or scooter, which is a great way to navigate through the city's narrow streets.
