Two Days in Sringeri with Family - July 2023

  1. Day 1: Sringeri Sharada Peetham

    Start your day at the Sringeri Sharada Peetham, one of the most ancient and prominent centers of learning in India. The temple is dedicated to Goddess Sharada, the presiding deity of Sringeri. It is a beautiful temple complex with exquisite architecture and serene ambiance. Spend your morning here offering prayers and soaking in the divinity of the place. Afterward, enjoy a vegetarian South Indian breakfast at one of the local restaurants nearby. In the afternoon, visit the Vidyashankara Temple which is within a walking distance from the Sharada Peetham. It is a unique temple with twelve zodiac pillars, each representing a sign of the zodiac. In the evening, unwind at the Sringeri Hill View Point and watch the sunset over the beautiful town.

  2. Day 2: Kigga and Sirimane Falls
    Located 8.3 km from Sringeri

    Start your day with a short drive to Kigga village and visit the Rishyasringa Temple. The temple is dedicated to Sage Rishyasringa, who is said to have brought rain to the drought-stricken Kingdom of Romapada. It is a small temple with a beautiful waterfall nearby. Afterward, head to the Sirimane Falls, which is located a short distance from Kigga. Spend your afternoon hiking, enjoying the waterfall and picnicking in the surrounding areas. Return to Sringeri in the evening and spend some time shopping for local handicrafts and souvenirs.

If you have extra time, we recommend visiting the Horanadu Annapoorneshwari Temple, which is located about 67 km from Sringeri. It is a beautiful temple located in the midst of the Western Ghats. You can also take a day trip to the nearby city of Chikmagalur, which is famous for its coffee estates, trekking trails, and beautiful landscapes.
