A 4-Day Foodie Itinerary for Delhi in July 2023

  1. Day 1: Old Delhi food tour
    20 minutes (5 miles) from Indira Gandhi International Airport

    In the morning, start your day with a visit to the Jama Masjid, one of the largest mosques in India. Then take a rickshaw and head to Paranthe Wali Gali, a street in Old Delhi famous for its parathas. After lunch, visit the Khari Baoli spice market and the Chandni Chowk market. In the evening, try the famous kebabs at Karim's near Jama Masjid.

  2. Day 2: Delhi Haat and Hauz Khas Village
    30 minutes (7 miles) from Old Delhi

    Start your day at Delhi Haat, an open-air food and craft market. Try different regional cuisines from all over India. After lunch, head to Hauz Khas Village, a trendy neighborhood filled with restaurants and bars. Visit the Hauz Khas Complex, a 14th-century monument, and enjoy the sunset from the Hauz Khas lake viewpoint. In the evening, try the fusion food at Imperfecto.

  3. Day 3: South Indian food tour
    25 minutes (6 miles) from Hauz Khas Village

    Start your day with a visit to the Lotus Temple, a beautiful temple shaped like a lotus flower. Then head to Saravana Bhavan in Connaught Place for a South Indian breakfast. After breakfast, visit the ISKCON temple and the Qutub Minar. In the evening, try the dosas at Sagar Ratna.

  4. Day 4: Street food tour in New Delhi
    30 minutes (8 miles) from South Delhi

    Start your day by visiting the India Gate, a war memorial and a popular tourist spot. Then head to Bengali Market for aloo tikki and chaat. After lunch, visit the Raj Ghat, a memorial dedicated to Mahatma Gandhi. In the evening, try the golgappas at Roshan Di Kulfi in Karol Bagh.
