Explore Goa with Your Family in March 2024

  1. Day 1: Basilica of Bom Jesus
    30 minutes (12 miles) from Goa International Airport

    In the morning, visit the UNESCO World Heritage Site, Basilica of Bom Jesus, which houses the remains of St. Francis Xavier, followed by a walk through the nearby St. Augustine Tower ruins in Old Goa. In the afternoon, take a 15-minute drive to Fontainhas, the Latin Quarter of Panaji, for a leisurely walk through its charming colourful streets, with Portuguese-style houses. Spend the evening at Miramar Beach to watch the sunset.

  2. Day 2: Dudhsagar Falls
    2 hours (46 miles) from Panaji

    In the morning, drive for 1.5 hours to reach the majestic Dudhsagar Falls, the tallest waterfall in Goa surrounded by lush greenery. Enjoy a swim here or a jeep ride to spice plantations nearby. In the afternoon, head to the nearby Tambdi Surla temple, the oldest surviving temple of Goa, dating back to the Kadamba Dynasty. Return to your hotel to relax before heading to the lively Baga Beach in the evening for some delicious Goan seafood and drinks.

  3. Day 3: Fort Aguada and Anjuna Flea Market
    45 minutes (15 miles) from Baga Beach

    In the morning, visit Fort Aguada, a 17th-century Portuguese fort overlooking the Arabian Sea. Take a guided tour of the fort and explore its lighthouse and prison. In the afternoon, head to the famous Anjuna Flea Market, a hub of hippie culture and a shopper's paradise, offering everything from clothes, jewellery to souvenirs. You can also enjoy live music performances, food and drinks here. Spend the evening at the Calangute Beach, the largest beach in Goa, before heading back to your hotel.

Don't miss the Shantadurga Temple, the Mangeshi Temple, and the Se Cathedral during your visit to Old Goa. You can also take a day trip to the beautiful Cotigao Wildlife Sanctuary or the Salim Ali Bird Sanctuary, both home to a wide variety of flora and fauna. To make the most of your trip, take a sunrise boat ride on the Mandovi River or indulge in some water sports at the Colva or Palolem Beach.
