2-Day Mumbai Itinerary for July 2023

  1. Day 1: Gateway of India
    10 minutes (3.1 km) from Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus

    Morning: Visit the iconic Gateway of India, built in 1924 to commemorate the visit of King George V and Queen Mary. Take a boat from here to the Elephanta Caves, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and explore the ancient Hindu and Buddhist rock-cut temples.

    Afternoon: For lunch, head to Leopold Cafe, a legendary eatery that has been serving Mumbai since 1871. Try their famous chicken tikka or fish and chips.

    Evening: Take a stroll along Marine Drive, a 3.6 km long promenade along the Arabian Sea. Watch the sunset and the twinkling lights of the city.

  2. Day 2: Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahalaya
    5 minutes (1.2 km) from Gateway of India

    Morning: Explore the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahalaya, formerly known as the Prince of Wales Museum. Admire the beautiful Indo-Saracenic architecture and the vast collection of art, archaeology, and natural history.

    Afternoon: For lunch, head to Britannia & Co., a Parsi restaurant established in 1923. Try their famous berry pulao or dhansak.

    Evening: Visit the Haji Ali Dargah, a mosque and tomb located on a small islet off the coast of Worli. Walk along the causeway and enjoy the view of the Arabian Sea.
