Relaxing 3-Day Itinerary for Ratnagiri in July 2023

  1. Day 1: Ganapatipule Beach
    20 minutes (6.3 km) from Ratnagiri City Centre

    In the morning, take a stroll down the pristine white sand beach, Ganapatipule beach. Take a dip in the refreshing sea water or just lay back and relax enjoying the spectacular view of the Arabian sea. In the afternoon, visit the nearby Ganapatipule temple, one of the most famous and beautiful temples in Maharashtra and enjoy the serenity of the place. In the evening, indulge in some local delicacies like ukdiche modak and solkadhi at any of the local restaurants located near the temple.

  2. Day 2: Jaigad Fort
    1 hour 10 minutes (37 km) from Ganapatipule Beach

    Explore the historic Jaigad Fort, a 17th century fort located at the entrance of the Sangameshwar river. Take a guided tour of the fort and learn about its history and significance. In the afternoon, explore the nearby Karhateshwar temple and enjoy the tranquility of the place. In the evening, head back to Ganapatipule beach for some more relaxing time and witness the beautiful sunset.

  3. Day 3: Ratnadurga Fort
    35 minutes (12.4 km) from Jaigad Fort

    Visit the Ratnadurga Fort, a 16th century fort located on a hilltop overlooking the Arabian sea. Take a guided tour of the fort and marvel at the stunning views of the sea. In the afternoon, head to the nearby Bhatye Beach for some more relaxing time. In the evening, visit the Thibaw Palace, a beautiful palace built for the exiled King and Queen of Myanmar.

You can also consider visiting Velneshwar Beach, a beautiful and secluded beach located 30 minutes away from Ganapatipule Beach. If you have an extra day, you can take a day trip to the nearby Pawas village, known for its ashram and the resting place of Swami Swaroopanand.
