Two-Day Itinerary for Goa in July 2023

  1. Day 1: Visit Panaji City
    25 minutes (14.3 km) from Dabolim Airport

    In the morning, visit the famous Our Lady of Immaculate Conception Church with its striking white façade and twin bell towers. For lunch, head to the popular Black Sheep Bistro that serves a fusion of Indian and Western cuisine. In the afternoon, explore the Fontainhas neighbourhood, which is known for its vibrant colour scheme and European architecture. In the evening, enjoy a sunset cruise along the Mandovi River.

  2. Day 2: Explore Old Goa
    30 minutes (18.5 km) from Panaji City

    Start the day by visiting the iconic Basilica of Bom Jesus, which houses the remains of St. Francis Xavier. For lunch, try the traditional Goan fish curry at Viva Panjim, a cosy restaurant that serves authentic Goan cuisine. In the afternoon, visit the Se Cathedral, the largest church in Goa, and the nearby Church of St. Francis of Assisi. In the evening, relax on the Morjim Beach and watch the sunset.

Recommendations

Don't miss out on the Dudhsagar Falls, one of India's tallest waterfalls located about 80 km from Panaji. Alternatively, you can take a day trip to the spice plantations in Ponda or visit the Salim Ali Bird Sanctuary in Chorao. Make sure to try the famous feni, a locally brewed spirit made from cashew or coconut.
