Ollantaytambo is a small town located in the Sacred Valley of the Incas. It is home to the famous Ollantaytambo ruins, a fortress that dates back to the Inca Empire. There are many great restaurants in the area where you can taste traditional Peruvian cuisine.
Aguas Calientes is a small town located at the base of the famous Machu Picchu ruins. It is the perfect place to stay overnight before exploring the ruins tomorrow. Aguas Calientes is known for its hot springs, local markets, and great restaurants.
If you have more time, consider visiting the Chinchero ruins or the Moray and Maras Salt Mines. If you have less time, you can skip Pisac and go straight to Ollantaytambo to have lunch and explore the ruins. To save time and money, take the train from Cusco to Aguas Calientes and skip Pisac and Ollantaytambo.
