Start your trip off by visiting Gyeongbokgung Palace, one of the most well-preserved palaces in Seoul. Watch the changing of the guard ceremony and explore the palace buildings, gardens, and museums. Take plenty of pictures in traditional Korean clothing and participate in a tea ceremony.
Ride up Namsan Tower for breathtaking views of the city, then head to Myeongdong Shopping District for some retail therapy. Satisfy your cravings from various street food vendors while shopping for cosmetics, clothes, accessories, and souvenirs.
Enjoy a day of fun at Lotte World Amusement Park, which offers outdoor and indoor rides, attractions, and shows. Cool off in the water park and try some Korean food at the nearby Lotte Mart.
Go on a tour of the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ), a heavily guarded and historic border between North and South Korea. Learn about the Korean War, see the Third Infiltration Tunnel, and have a chance to step into North Korean territory at the Joint Security Area.
Arrive in Jeju and head straight to the Jeju Folk Village Museum to learn about the history, culture, and architecture of Jeju Island. Stroll through the different villages and try some traditional Jeju food.
Hike up to the top of Seongsan Ilchulbong, a volcanic crater on the eastern coast of Jeju Island. Enjoy the panoramic views and take in the natural beauty of the island. Take pictures of the Jeju Haenyeo (women divers) and watch their performances.
Take a ferry to reach Udo Island, a small but charming island with beautiful beaches, cliffs, and fields. Rent a bike or an electric car to tour the island, try some seafood, and visit the lighthouse and the Udo Maritime Park.
Go hiking in Hallasan National Park, a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve and the highest mountain in South Korea. Choose from several trails with different levels of difficulty, admire the flora and fauna, and take a break at the shelter or the observation deck.
Walk the Jeju Olle Trail, a network of 26 hiking trails that covers over 400km around the island. Choose a section that suits your interests and fitness level, and enjoy the scenery, history, culture, and food. Don't forget to get a stamp at the local checkpoints.
End your trip on a sweet note by visiting the Teddy Bear Museum and the Jeju Chocolate Museum. See various teddy bears from different countries and eras, shop for cute souvenirs, and taste some premium chocolate made with Jeju ingredients.
If you have more time, you can add a visit to the National Museum of Korea, the Changdeokgung Palace, or the Jeju Haenyeo Museum. If you have less time, you can skip some of the museums or the olle trails, or combine some of the attractions in the same area. Avoid traveling during the peak seasons (July-August, December-January) to avoid crowds and higher prices. Wear comfortable walking shoes and dress appropriately for the weather. Bring enough cash or a debit/credit card since some places may not accept foreign currencies or cards. Book your tickets for the DMZ Tour, the Teddy Bear Museum, and the Jeju Chocolate Museum in advance to avoid long lines.
